A little girl was crying as she lay on her bed,
She couldn't find Jane. Her eyes were all red.
As she lay there sobbing she felt so alone,
Her Jane's gone away,
She started to pray.
Dear Father in heaven,
Have you seen Jane?
She's only a rag doll
I guess she's quite plain
Dear Father in heaven
You're busy I know
But please try & find her
'Cause I miss her so.
The little girl's been playing
With Jane all the day
She's been in her pram
Being fed bread & jam
And each night she lays on her pillow to rest
But tonight she's not there
The cradle is bare.
Dear father (etc)
Suddenly the bedroom is filled with a light
Someone's crept in
To see she's alright
The girl rubs her eyes
She can hardly believe
She says, Jane has come back.
Look. She's next to me.
Dear Father in heaven
You've answered my prayer
I knew you would help me
I knew you were there
Dear Father in heaven
I still can't believe
That Jane has come back
And she's next to me.
