[Flute/Bells: Brian Jackson Producer: Bob Thiele Percussion: Charlie Saunders and Eddie Knowles]

[Intro: Gil Scott-Heron]
We got, uh, uh, a couple of things, you know, like, on drugs. I used to a have poem called "Why You Keep Beep-Beep With That Dope?" You know? Like, uh, we had to ice that one because of, uh, like, like a bunch of people, um, complaints of the language we were using. I'd like to do a thing on, um, sex education, uh, ghetto style. Um, if I can have something moderate 4/4, I'll be into something. Um, 'cause we were, we were wondering just how, um, Freud's analysis of-or psychoanalysis-of dreams and, and sex would come into play if, um, if it had been around about thirty years ago when the, when the brothers was doing what they was doing in the streets. This is called "Sex Education: Ghetto Style"

[Verse 1: Gil Scott-Heron]
I was doing it when I was a colored boy of eight or nine or ten
I had never heard of Sigmund Freud, but, hell, I was doing it then
I was doing it in my teenaged years when I was running the ghetto street
Now I had never seen me no ink blot test, but it still felt good to me
I was doing it when I arrived in college, searching for my degree
But Lord knows a degree wasn't all I got, and that's the way it's supposed to be
I hope that when I have kids of my own, they really don't get shook
When I tell them that there are things they've got to learn that can't be found in books
