"Close To You" lyrics - THE AVALANCHES

[Intro: Roosevelt Franklin]
He-here I come, here I come
He-here I come, here I come
He-here I come, here I come
Did somebody somewhere summon me?
He-here I come, here I come
He-here I come, here I come
He-here I come, here I come

[Refrain: Nancy Wilson]
Close to you
Close to you
La-la-la, close to you
La-la-la, close to you
La-la-la, close to you
La-la-la, close to you

[Verse 1: Geechi Suede]
The disco, the disco, the disco, the disco
Glass got me right
Glass got me right
Stop to the midnight, don't stop
Stop to the disco, the disco, the disco
Stop to the midnight
Don't stop to the midnight
Don't stop to the midnight
Glass got me right

[Pre-Chorus: Geechi Suede]
On to the disco, disco, disco, disco

[Chorus: August Darnell]
There's a gentleman that's going 'round
Turnin' the joint upside-down
Gentleman that's going 'round
Turnin' the joint upside-down
Gentleman that's going 'round
Turnin' the joint upside-down
Turnin' the joint upside-down
Turnin' the joint upside-down

[Verse 2: Geechi Suede & August Darnell]
(Gentleman that's going 'round, turnin' the joint upside down)
(Gentleman that's going 'round, turnin' the joint upside down)
Stop to the midnight
On to the disco
Stop to the midnight
On to the disco
Stop to the midnight
On to the disco
Stop to the midnight, stop

[Chorus: August Darnell, Geechi Suede]
Gentleman that's going 'round
Turnin' the joint upside down (On to the disco)
Gentleman that's going 'round
Turnin' the joint upside down
Gentleman that's going 'round
Turnin' the joint upside down
(On to the disco, the disco, the disco)
Gentleman that's going 'round
Turnin' the joint upside down
Gentleman that's going 'round
Turnin' the joint upside down
Gentleman that's going 'round
Turnin' the joint upside down
Gentleman that's going 'round
Turnin' the joint upside down
Gentleman that's going 'round
Turnin' the joint upside down
Gentleman that's going 'round
Turnin' the joint upside down
Gentleman that's going 'round
Turnin' the joint upside down
